Videos show college assistant Cameron Blankenship spike headset, shove own player (Cameron Blankenship)

It was almost all roses for Bryant Vincent's first half-season as ULM head coach.

The Warhawks reeled off wins in five of their first six games, the only blemish a loss at powerhouse Texas, and seemed poised to make a run in the SunBelt Conference.

Now, they've lost two consecutive games and, much more significant, the program is embroiled in controversy after first-year offensive line coach Cameron Blankenship was captured on the game's broadcast running several yards onto the field, spiking his headset and then chasing after Drew Hutchinson.

As Hutchinson, a redshirt-sophomore and Louisiana native, hustles to get off the field to help the Warhawks avoid penalty, Blankenship chases him from a few steps on the playing surface to several yards deep into the sideline.

ULM lost the game at Marshall, a week after being blown out by South Alabama, and will seek to get back on track next week at home against Texas State before going to SEC resident Auburn a week later.

Late Saturday night, ULM officials posted a statement on social media that called Blankenship's behavior "unacceptable" and said disciplinary action will be forthcoming.
