A year go, Notre Dame had head coach Marcus Freeman, star tight end Michael Mayer and defensive end Isaiah Foskey travel to Los Vegas to unveil the program's special 'Shamrock Series' uniforms.
This time, sticking with the Hollywood theme, the Fighting Irish kept things closer to home -- but with a much more dramatic look.
With Marcus Freeman playing an effective Tom Cruise as Jerry Maguire from the 1990s flick of the same name, Notre Dame on Monday unveiled its brand-new, all-green jerseys for the program's much-anticipated Sept. 23 game against Ohio State.
The visit from the Buckeyes, who opened the 2022 season with an 21-10 win against visiting Notre Dame, will be a primetime affair at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
Notre Dame has dubbed the contest an 'Irish Wear Green' event, with fans being asked to match the team's all-green ensemble.
As Freeman in his portrayal of Maguire is urged to "Show me the green jerseys," star tailback Audric Estime, in Cuba Gooding's role of Rod Tidwell, strings along Freeman with commands via phone before the Irish ultimately unveil the new threads at the video's end.
