Earlier this morning, I noticed this tweet from the West Virginia men's basketball account touting their newest training addition...a 50-yard slab of turf.
Now, as a fan of college athletics (football and basketball in particular), there's plenty of cross-over between the two sports. Perhaps most notably is Tom Izzo's affinity for putting helmets and shoulder pads on his basketball players for rebounding drills...but 50 yards of turf for a basketball team to train on makes no sense to me.
What on earth could Bob Huggins and the WVU men's basketball team want with 50 yards of turf for training? Someone enlighten me please.
