Chad Staggs spent the last few seasons as the defensive coordinator at Coastal Carolina, where his defense has helped the Chanticleers go 31-7 over the last three seasons.
Now he's reportedly heading to Western Kentucky.
Pete Thamel tweets this morning that Staggs is expected to be the new linebackers coach on the Western Kentucky staff.
In Staggs, Helton is adding a veteran coordinator to his staff.
The former Broyles Award semifinalist brings coordinator experience at multiple levels of college football from stops at North Greenville (D-III - SC), Delta State (D-II - MS), Charleston Southern (FCS), and Furman (FCS - SC) before joining the Coastal Carolina staff in 2019.
Following the departure of head coach Jamey Chadwell to Liberty, Staggs was tabbed as the program's interim head coach for their Birmingham Bowl loss to ECU.
