Jim and John Harbaugh sat down to share some of the family stories behind their "Harbaughisms" recently in a very entertaining video.
One of their most popular phrases is "Who's got it better than us," and a special March Madness story gave us a logical answer to that query last night through a post game comment by Dan Monson.
Who exactly is Dan Monson?
Monson has been the head coach at Long Beach State for the past 17 seasons and on Monday the school announced a "mutual separation" with their longtime head coach after a 18-14 regular season, but added they he would finish out the rest of the season.
Then the improbable happened.
A 4-seed in the Big West Tournament, Long Beach State rattled off three straight wins over 5-seed UC Riverside, 1-seed UC Irvine, and 2-seed UC Davis to win their conference tournament, punching their ticket to The Big Dance.
Now they're set to hit the biggest stage in college basketball red hot with a coach that the school decided they don't want around anymore for one final ride.
After winning the conference tournament title, Monson referred to that famous Harbaughism.
"When Jim Harbaugh says who's got it better than him, someone's gotta tel him Dan Monson."
On Monday Dan Monson was fired after 17 years at LBSU. Now he's dancing.
