The NBA held its awards show Monday night, and Dwane Casey took home the league's Coach of the Year award. The 61-year-old led the Toronto Raptors to a 59-23 mark, the Atlantic Division championship (his fourth in five years) and the Eastern Conference semifinals.
After winning an award like that, surely Casey is in line for a contract extension, right? Uh, not exactly.
The Raptors fired Casey on May 11.
That didn't stop Toronto from congratulating Casey on his award.
But his new team was really excited about it.
The Pistons milked the heck out of this thing.
This just goes to show that college football isn't the only sport that operates outside the realm of logic and reason.
