The NFL draft is, obviously, a landmark moment in the life of every player fortunate enough to hear his name called. But it's not just a landmark moment in his life, though. It's a major accomplishment for his parents, his siblings, his friends, his extended family and, of course, his coaches.
For those players invited by the league to attend the draft, the families obviously come with them. But now, according to a tweet from Gil Brandt, the NFL has invited another key figure in any draftee's life to come along as well.
His high school coach.
At a time when high school coaches are too often being boxed out of the recruiting process, this is a great statement by the NFL to affirm what an important role high school coaches play in future stars' development.
