NFL's LA Rams add Houston Texans, Tennessee Vols coaches to strength staff (nhl)

The Los Angeles Rams, like all NFL teams working through offseason OTAs and preparing for the opening of training camp next month, are making several significant additions to the franchise's strength and conditioning, as well as sports science, programs, sources tell FootballScoop.

The Rams are bringing aboard Joe Distor from the Houston Texans and Chris Aninye from the University of Tennessee as support staff strength training associates for the franchise.

Additionally, the Rams have added Trent Frey as their performance science coordinator.

Finally, Justin Chatman from Furman University is set to join the franchise in a performance science/strength and conditioning fellowship position.

Distor had been with the Texans for some five years after previously serving with the NFL's Chargers franchise.

Aninye had been the assistant director for football sports performance in Josh Heupel's Vols program; he previously had experience at Kansas State, among other career stops.

He's already joined the Rams franchise.

Frey was spotlighted earlier this year by the NHL's Kings, who shared some of his training techniques for the hockey team.
