Oklahoma has approved Lincoln Riley's head coaching contract. And three games into the deal, it looks like the Sooners got a tremendous bargain.
Riley will earn a base salary of $3.1 million over a 5-year deal with $200,000 raises every February. That's a significant cost savings for the Sooners, who paid Bob Stoops $5.5 million as head coach last season. But it's also a major step up from Riley's $900,000 salary as Oklahoma's offensive coordinator.
Bonuses range from $250,000 for a national championship to $25,000 for being named Big 12 coach of the year.
