Pat Narduzzi taking veiled shots at Penn State? Pat Narduzzi taking veiled shots at Penn State! (recruiting)

From the moment he arrived on campus last winter, Pat Narduzzi has insisted Penn State, not West Virginia, is the rivalry Pittsburgh should cultivate.

The first-year Pitt head coach has certainly done his part. He has the Panthers at 5-1, ahead of Penn State but behind Temple for ranking supremacy in the Keystone State. And he's not afraid to take veiled shots at his on-again, off-again rivals from across the state.

His SID even got in on the act.

Penn Sate quarterback Christian Hackenberg, who some projected as a first-round pick this spring, currently ranks 86th nationally in passing efficiency, completing 53.1 percent of his passes for 6.8 yards per attempt.

A total coincidence, I'm sure.

Penn State and Pitt, by the way, begin a four-year series next September at Heinz Field.
