Patriots and Bill Belichick part ways after historic run (Bill Belichick)

After 24 seasons, the Patriots will have a new head coach this fall.

Bill Belichick and the organization have decided to part ways with one year remaining on his contract following the worst season of his tenure that finished with a 4-12 mark.

Owner Robert Kraft and Belichick will hold a press conference at noon today to discuss the move.

His tenure in New England will be considered by many to be the most impressive run a head coach has had in the history of the NFL.

Belichick's tenure in Foxborough includes 9 Super Bowl appearances and 6 Super Bowl titles.

He leaves New England with a 266-120 regular season record and an impressive 30-12 record in the post season.

While his time in New England may be over, multiple reports share that Belichick will want to continue coaching and that he will draw interest for several other vacancies this cycle.

In the past 24 hours, the coaching profession has seen coaching changes involving Pete Carroll (parting of ways in Seattle), Nick Saban (retirement at Alabama) and now Belichick.
