Pro Football Focus.... for college football (Featured)

How familiar are you with Pro Football Focus?

I'll admit that I am aware of what they do, but not a regular consumer. PFF has gained notoriety and influence of late for diving deeper and harder into NFL analysis than any other media outlet, grading every player on every play in every NFL game.

Critics of PFF say they aren't fully equipped to grade every player since they aren't privy to each player's assignment on a given snap. Nevertheless, @PFF claims 134,000 Twitter followers and climbing.

And now it's coming to college football.

PFF announced Monday it will expand to cover college football. "Whether you’re a five star recruit at Alabama or a walk on Iowa State you’ve got exactly the same opportunity to impress our graders, and that is the driving force behind 'CFF'. We don’t want to follow the pack, but rather find things that others are not," the site wrote in its announcement. "We don’t want to confirm what you know, but make you think. We want to do more and do it more comprehensively."

This will be an interesting development to follow, especially from a coaches' perspective. Will it change the way we watch college football? I don't know. Will this be the only time College Football Focus ever occupies a thought in your brain? I don't know either. But I do know it will be interesting.
