Renderings: Kentucky releases plans for a new $45 million football facility (Facility)

Kentucky released plans today of their planned $45 million, 90,000 square foot training facility right next to Commonwealth Stadium.

Scheduled to open in the summer of 2016, the facility will house a state of the art locker room, players lounge, gaming area, new meeting rooms (with theatre seating), and coaches' offices, as well as a new dining facility, nutrition and health services, and a brand new expansive strength and conditioning area.

Judging from the plans, the new digs are going to be really nice.

"The goal is to give the UK football player a place that allows them to train the body and the mind so they can better utilize the time they have each day," Marc Hill, UK's executive associate AD for Internal Operations told The Courier-Journal.

"Plus, we needed some upgrades to help with the recruiting piece as well."

It's scary to think the type of recruits Mark Stoops and his staff will be able to pull in once this is finished.
