Giants offensive line coach Marc Colombo has been let go.
Initially, it was reported by Jason McIntyre that Colombo was let go after getting into a fistfight with head coach Joe Judge.
The allegations of a fistfight were almost immediately refuted by other media covering the Giants, including Art Stapleton who shared a quote from a source that said “Absolutely false in every way.”
An additional source told FootballScoop.com that no fistfight occurred.
Colombo played nearly a decade in the league with the Bears, Cowboys and Dolphins (2002-11) before joining the Cowboys as an assistant offensive line coach in 2016. He was promoted to offensive line coach for the organization in 2018 and spent the 2019 season as the leader of the unit before joining Judge's staff heading into the 2020 season.
The first-year coach Judge, a longtime New England Patriots assistant coach who got his coaching start at his alma mater, Mississippi State, fired Colombo and tabbed Dave DeGuglielmo as Colombo's replacement in charge of the offensive line.
DeGuglielmo, who served last year as the Dolphins' offensive line coach but had not been a full-time member of a staff this season, worked previously with Judge during their time in New England.
