Back in late December, FIU announced the decision to part ways with offensive coordinator Rich Skrosky, and at first they decided to promote Tim Harris Jr. to the post, but when Harris decided to join Gus Malzahn's staff at UCF, Butch Davis had to search for a replacement.
According to a report today, Davis has found his guy, and it's someone with recent SEC coordinator experience who spent last season in the NFL.
Andrew Breiner, the former head coach at Fordham (FCS - NY) who went on to serve as the pass game coordinator on Joe Moorhead's Mississippi State staffs before spending last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, is set to join the staff as offensive coordinator.
Adam Rittenberg was among one of the first to tweet the news, crediting Eric C Henry and Anthony Yero with initially reporting the move.
Breiner spent last season in Philly as a passing game analyst.
At Fordham, Breiner served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Joe Moorhead, and when Moorhead stepped down to head to Penn State as offensive coordinator, the young and fast rising coach was appointed head coach of the program.
In two seasons, Breiner went 8-3 with a second place finish in the Patriot League and then 4-7 in his second season before resigning to join Moorhead's staff at Mississippi State.
