Marcus Arroyo, who is entering his second season as the head coach at UNLV after previously serving as the offensive coordinator / assistant head coach / quarterbacks coach at Oregon, is turning to a familiar outlet to fill an opening on his staff.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Arroyo is expected to hire Oregon offensive graduate assistant Jonathan Krause as their new receivers coach.
Krause has spent the last three seasons in Eugene working with the receivers on Mario Cristobal's staff. Two of those years were with Arroyo leading the Ducks offense.
Prior to his time in Eugene, Krause spent a short time at Vanderbilt as a volunteer coach. He lettered four years at wide receiver for the Commodores before going to to play four seasons in the NFL.
He signed a free agent deal with the Browns after finishing at Vanderbilt in 2013, then earned a Super Bowl ring as a part of the Patriots practice squad in 2015 before going on to play with the Eagles in 2015 and then spent some time on the practice squads with the Chargers and Bucs before finishing his career with the Titans in 2016.
Krause will replace Terrence Samuel who left to become the wide receivers coach at Syracuse for Dino Babers.
Samuel spent one season coaching the wide receivers and serving as passing game coordinator at UNLV after previously serving as an assistant at Michigan State for nine seasons.
