Sources: NFL D-line coach, former Ducks GA to become Oregon O-line coach (a'lique terry)

Oregon is set to hire A'Lique Terry as its offensive line coach, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.

A former Ducks graduate assistant, the move completes a journey that took Terry to the middle of the Pacific Ocean and a different side of the ball.

Terry is currently the assistant defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings, a 1-year appointment that will undoubtedly strengthen his knowledge of both sides of football's trench warfare.

Prior to the Vikings, Terry spent 2021 as the offensive line coach at Hawaii. That job came after two seasons as the O-line GA at Oregon, where he learned under two of the best in the business in Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal. Oregon won the Joe Moore Award as the nation's top offensive line, and tackle Penei Sewell claimed the Outland Trophy as the nation's top lineman. The Ducks also won the Pac-12 and the Rose Bowl that season.

Terry replaces Adrian Klemm, who took the offensive line job with the New England Patriots. Klemm's brief time in Eugene added to Oregon's reputation as one of the top offensive line factories in college football; the Ducks permitted just 0.39 sacks per game, the fewest by a non-Academy team since 2015.

Terry was a four-year letterman along the offensive line for Wake Forest from 2014-17. His first coaching job came as a quality control at Wake in 2018.
