Bobby Acosta is expected to be the offensive coordinator on Alonzo Hampton's new Arkansas-Pine Bluff staff, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.
Acosta was most recently the offensive coordinator at Del Valle High School near Austin. Dave Campbell's Texas Football first reported the news of his departure from that school.
“My experience at Del Valle High School has been incredible, Texas High School Football is the best in the country," Acosta told the outlet. "I’m sad we didn’t get it done while I was here, but I’m looking forward to seeing great things from Del Valle in the future. I love our players at Del Valle, but I was presented with an amazing opportunity at the next level to work with a friend."
Acosta has coached previously at Syracuse, Bucknell and Delaware, among other stops. He spent one season as the head coach at Widener University and one season as the head coach at IMG Academy.
UAPB is looking to rebound from a 3-8 campaign in 2022.
