Whoever said you can't go home as a head coach is wrong. Scott Frost is set to do it twice.
FootballScoop can confirm that Frost, who previously led UCF for two seasons, is returning to lead the Knights.
His two seasons leading the Knights resulted in a 19-7 record, capped by his 13-0 undefeated season in 2017 that includes a victory in the Peach Bowl over Auburn (and a mythical and controversial national title).
Prior to the 2018 season, the job at Frost's alma mater came open at Nebraska, opening the door to the 2-time former national champion quarterback to return to Lincoln (where he was also born).
Unfortunately, his tenure in Nebraska never lived up to what most fans hoped for.
In four full seasons, Frost failed to lead the program to a postseason berth and the program became known for losing close games in the most mind-numbing fashion.
After a 1-2 start to the 2022 season, Frost was dismissed.
The 2023 season was spent away from the sidelines for Frost, and he joined the staff of Sean McVay and the LA Rams prior to this fall in the role of senior football analyst.
