Sources confirm USC Trojans adding key LSU recruiting staffer (bryan carrington)

Jeff Martin had been a staple in various roles in the LSU football program.

Now Martin is set to begin a new challenge at the University of Southern California.

The Trojans, enhancing staff in a variety of areas throughout the past year and incorporating some new positions under athletics director Mike Bohn, hired in November 2019 to run USC athletics, are tapping Martin as Director of Scouting and Player Relations, sources confirmed to FootballScoop.

USC has grown from five support-staff members to approximately 11 full-time off-the-field personnel and recruiting experts in the Trojans football program.

Martin's impending arrival at USC was reported by Scott Shrader of USCScoop.com among multiple reports.

Per a source familiar with Martin's new role in Clay Helton's Trojans' program, Martin β€œwill be vital in personnel, recruiting and player development.”

Martin was known at LSU for his do-anything approach; he had started helping out the LSU equipment staff and also worked in part-time player personnel roles before he ascended into a full-time role with a variety of responsibilities.

Most recently, USC added Bryan Carrington from Texas, where Carrington served in a key recruiting role.

For the Trojans, Carrington is going to be an offensive analyst as he seeks to transition into an on-field coaching role.
