Friday we, and others, reported that Michigan had made an offer to, and Florida linebackers coach Christian Robinson was expected to accept the opportunity to join Jim Harbaugh's staff working with his friend Mike MacDonald.
Part of the reason he had not formally accepted at that time is because Michigan did not wish to extend the formal offer until such time as MacDonald was signed.
Robinson and MacDonald previously had worked together at the University of Georgia. But MacDonald, who had spent the past three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, could not formally accept the Wolverines' contract offer until the Ravens' season ended. They were eliminated from the AFC playoffs late Saturday night in Buffalo.
Late Saturday night, sources informed FootballScoop that MacDonald and Robinson had agreed to join the Michigan staff, formal offers were transmitted ... all that remained was collecting signatures.

In the meantime, sources on Sunday told FootballScoop that Gators' head coach Dan Mullen reached out to Robinson to attempt to retain his linebackers coach. Sources with direct knowledge said Mullen and the Gators countered Michigan's offer to Robinson, with the Gators offering to elevate Robinson's pay.
Resolution could come as early as today. We will update when clear.
