Josh Linam has been a rising young commodity in college coaching.
Now Linam is getting a chance to help sustain the record-breaking success that Liberty University previous experience under Hugh Freeze.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Linam is joining Jamey Chadwell's Liberty staff as a defensive assistant.
In essence, Linam is going to replace the role on the Flames' defense vacated when Robert Bala accepted a spot on Nick Saban's Alabama staff.
Chadwell was hired by Liberty after his own record-setting run atop the Coastal Carolina program, once Auburn brought Freeze back into the Southeastern Conference following the 2022 season.
For Linam, it's continued growth in a career with stops at Auburn, Georgia Tech and Jacksonville State, among others, after his own decorated playing career in college football.
Liberty is set to open the Chadwell era at home Sept. 2 against Bowling Green.
