Tony Gibson is poised to add even more ACC roots to his inaugural Marshall staff.
And that's another Clemson tie for the Thundering Herd.
Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Gibson and offensive coordinator Rod Smith are set to hire Chansi Stuckey to the Herd's offensive staff.
A former star wideout at Clemson who also played several seasons in the NFL, most notably with the New York Jets, Stuckey also is expected to coach wideouts for the Herd. Theron Aych who was slated to coach receivers recently accepted an offer from Oklahoma State sources shared.
The impending addition of Stuckey, a former FootballScoop Minority Rising Stars selection, adds depth to Marshall's ties to the Clemson program.
In addition to Stuckey, running backs coach Rod McDowell is a former Clemson letterwinner and new offensive coordinator Rod Smith spent time on staff at Clemson earlier in his coaching career.
Stuckey dives back into the FBS coaching ranks after spending 2024 consulting with some teams and also training prospects.
He's a former Notre Dame assistant who spent two years on Marcus Freeman's staff and also previously coached under Dave Aranda at Baylor.
In 2023, Stuckey helped turn the Irish freshman duo of Jaden Greathouse and Rico Flores into one of college football's best first-year receiving tandems; he also guided Chris Tyree's transition from running back to wideout that same season, when Tyree finished with nearly 500 receiving yards on 26 catches with a trio of scores.
Stuckey also helped Notre Dame sign a trio of four-star prospects and former five-star Cam Williams.
The Herd hired Gibson last month after record-setting head coach Charles Huff departed Marshall to take over the rebuilding project at Southern Miss.
