Jay MacIntyre's. journey through the collegiate coaching ranks is taking a marked turn in climate.
A three-year assistant at Florida International from 2022 through 2024, MacIntyre now is set to take over the offense and coach quarterbacks for FCS program University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
It's a roughly 1,800-mile change in addresses for MacIntyre, who goes from South Beach to the Canadian border.
A former team captain at the University of Colorado, MacIntyre has coached at Southeastern, UT-Martin under renowned coach Jason Simpson and then the previous three years under his father, Mike, at FIU.
That program made a coaching change late last year and tabbed Willie Simmons to take over beginning in 2025.
St. Thomas closed 2024 with a 6-6 mark, including 5-3 in the Pioneer Football League. The program has yet to announce its finalized 2025 slate.
