Frank Wilson, Jr., is expected to be the new cornerbacks coach at Norfolk State, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.
Wilson spent the 2022 campaign as a special teams analyst at North Carolina. He also served as an analyst at Houston, and spent 2016-19 as the special teams coordinator at Old Dominion, located just four miles away from NSU.
Wilson has extensive defensive backs experience, beginning with a GA stint at East Stroudsburg in 2012. He then moved to the defensive backs coaching role at East Stroudsburg in 2013, where he engineered a 131-spot improvement in pass defense and tutored the conference leaders in interceptions and pass-breakups.
Wilson spent 2014 as the cornerbacks coach at Missouri Southern and 2015 as the safeties coach at Northwestern State.
Wilson joins a staff headed by Dawson Odums, heading into his third year leading the Spartans. Norfolk State went 2-9 in 2022.
