Chris Ball will not return as the head coach at Northern Arizona, sources confirmed to FootballScoop on Monday. 247Sports first reported the news.
Ball concluded his fifth season as NAU's head coach on Saturday. The Lumberjacks defeated Eastern Washington 49-42 and closed the year on a 2-game winning streak, but the program's 5-6 mark was the best of Ball's half-decade at the helm.
In all, NAU went 20-30 under Ball, bouncing between three and five wins.
Ball, 60, joined the program after three seasons as the defensive coordinator at Memphis. He spent 2012-15 as the defensive coordinator at Arizona State and spent the majority of his near 4-decade career out West.
