Sources: Penn State making a change at offensive coordinator (Mike Yurcich)

Mike Yurcich is not expected to return as Penn State's offensive coordinator, sources told FootballScoop on Sunday.

The move comes one day after the 10th-ranked Nittany Lions fell 24-15 to No. 3 Michigan. The Nittany Lions gained 238 yards of total offense in the contest; quarterback Drew Allar completed 10-of-22 passes for 74 yards.

In Penn State's 18-12 loss to No. 1 Ohio State earlier this season, Penn State gained 240 yards and did not score a touchdown.

On the season, the 8-2 Nittany Lions are No. 3 nationally in yards per play defense but No. 102 in yards per play offense and No. 61 in passing efficiency.

Yurcich joined the program in 2021 after one season as the offensive coordinator at Texas, one as the quarterbacks coach at Ohio State, and six as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State. It was at Oklahoma State that he rose from obscurity after two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Division II Shippensburg University.

Source tells FootballScoop co-offensive coordinator Ja'Juan Seider is expected to take over as play caller.

Penn State's final two regular season games are vs Rutgers and at Michigan State.

As always, stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest.

Update >> Penn State has announced this, and added that Seider, as well as tight ends coach Ty Howle will serve as interim offensive coordinators.
