Sources: Purdue adding top young wide receivers coach to offensive staff (Purdue)

Barry Odom keeps stacking an impressive inaugural coaching staff at Purdue.

The latest? Multiple sources tell FootballScoop that Bilal Marshall is returning to his alma mater to help Cornell Ford coach the wide receivers.

Specifically, sources told FootballScoop, Marshall is likely to work as the inside receivers coach while Ford oversees the group and also serves his role as assistant head coach.

A former multi-year letterwinner at Purdue who was the Boilermakers second-leading receiver in his senior campaign, Marshall arrives back at his alma mater after being the wide receivers coach for the past two seasons at West Virginia.

He spent a total of four seasons in Morgantown, W. Va., after logging a pair of graduate-assistant coach years there in 2020-21 under former head coach Neal Brown.

Marshall also was the wideouts coach at VMI and launched his coaching career back in his home area of Miami, Florida, where as an assistant coach he helped Champagnat High School win a Florida state title in 2019.

After a season of playing professionally for the Canadian Football League's Ottawa Red Blacks in 2017, Marshall then transitioned into coaching.
