Maryland graduate assistant Kyle Edwards is joining Richmond's staff as tight ends coach, sources told FootballScoop on Tuesday.
Edwards spent the past three seasons working with the Terps' quarterbacks and tight ends coach, a key conduit of Mike Locksley's offensive system.
Edwards and Locksley first united at Alabama, where the latter was an assistant and later a coordinator under Nick Saban, and the former a reserve quarterback for the Crimson Tide. After graduation, Edwards spent the 2019 campaign as a quality control for Alabama.
In between Alabama and Maryland, Edwards spent 2020 working with the quarterbacks at UT-Martin.
Edwards hails from Springfield, Va., a Washington D.C. suburb roughly 100 miles north of Richmond.
