Sources: Rutgers adds FCS assistant to support staff (Jake Bahr)

Arkansas-Pine Bluff linebackers coach Jake Bahr has joined Rutgers's staff, sources told FootballScoop on Thursday.

Bahr will be a special teams analyst for the Scarlet Knights, sources said.

Bahr will work alongside quality control coach Eddie Allen. The pair worked together at UConn from 2018-21, with Allen serving as special teams coordinator while Bahr, who joined the staff as a GA, rose to become the Huskies' linebackers coach.

Bahr was an All-American Southwest Conference linebacker at Texas Lutheran and got his start in coaching at his alma mater. He also served as recruiting coordinator for head coach Alonzo Hampton's staff in Pine Bluff.

Rutgers opens the 2023 season, its fourth in the second tenure of head coach Greg Schiano, Sunday, Sept. 3 against Northwestern (noon ET, CBS).
