Longtime Dubuque (D-III - IA) head coach Stan Zweifel is expected to step down, sources tell FootballScoop.
Zweifel, who is a 2008 inductee into the Wisconsin Coaches Association Hall of Fame, led the program the past 15 seasons.
His overall record leading the Spartans was 86-57 and he had an impressive record in conference play of 71-38 .
That conference win percentage is the highest in school history.
During his time with the program, Zweifel captured two conference championships and punched a ticket to the Division III postseason twice as well. Dubuque finished second in the conference standings a total of three other times.
He was previously West Region Coach of the Year and is a former Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year finalist.
This past fall, the Spartans finished 5-5, with a 5-3 conference record.
Before taking over the Dubuque program Zweifel was an assistant coach at Minnesto Mankato (D-II) and also served as assistant head coach / offensive coordinator at UW-Whitewater for 16 seasons.
