Temple football, entering Stan Drayton's crucial third season in 2024 after going just 6-18 combined the previous two seasons, is making a key change on its defensive staff.
Sources tell FootballScoop that the Owls are separating from safeties coach Marvin Clecidor.
Clecidor had been a part of Drayton's inaugural Temple staff, hired away from Western Michigan after the 2021 season where he had coached cornerbacks two years for the Broncos.
His previous stops also included Princeton, Rutgers and William & Mary, among other steps on Clecidor's coaching journey.
The Owls' defense also ranked 130th in pass efficiency defense for the 2023 season, allowing nearly 3,000 passing yards and 27 touchdowns.
Sources also indicated to FootballScoop that Temple could be positioned to shake up its offensive staff as well.
The Owls are set to open Drayton's third season in 2024 with a daunting road tilt at Oklahoma Aug. 31 in what will mark the Sooners' first-ever game as an SEC member.
