Danny White turned the world of college athletics administration upside down Thursday when he departed his role atop the Central Florida athletics department to run the show at the University of Tennessee.
Now White, flush with a multi-year deal that, per industry sources makes him among the nation's highest-paid athletics directors, already is working to revamp the staff on Rocky Top.
Multiple sources at both UCF and Tennessee tell FootballScoop on Friday that White is bringing both Chris McFarlane and Cam Walker to join his athletics' director's cabinet on Rocky Top.
McFarlane was a relative new hire for White at UCF, and McFarlane served as the school's Deputy Athletics Director for Competitive Excellence. A Florida State graduate, McFarlane also has worked at both Northwestern and Pitt.
In a seemingly critical move, given the current climate at Tennessee, White also is positioned to bring with him Walker, who's serviced as UCF's Executive Associate Athletics Director for Compliance. Walker has experience as a Title IX coordinator and also graduated cum laude with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Arkansas.
White is scheduled to hold his introductory press conference at Tennessee Friday afternoon. Per a University of Tennessee source, White could have both McFarlane and Walker with him upon his arrival in Knoxville.
