Sources: Valdosta State lands FBS staffer with SEC, Big 12 experience for defensive staff (Tyson Kee)

Less than a month after taking over as head coach, Graham Craig is making an important addition to his inaugural Valdosta State coaching staff.

Sources tell FootballScoop that Craig is adding Tyson Kee to coach defensive backs for the Blazers, who elevated Craig to the top spot last month after the program posted a 13-1 mark en route to a runner-up finish in the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

For Kee, it's his first full-time, on-field assistant coaching position but also another step in an impressive start to his young career.

Kee played at NAIA program Southeastern in his home state of Florida.

After his playing career, Kee began as a graduate assistant coach at now-Big 12 program UCF. He also logged time in the SEC at the University of Tennessee, where he continued to work with Josh Heupel and then-Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh.

After multiple seasons on staff for the Golden Knights and his time on Rocky Top, Kee transitioned to coach safeties for Golesh & Co. at South Florida.
