Andy Buh, who's been a defensive coordinator and worked in the Big Ten, PAC-12 and SEC, is transitioning from one Big Ten program to another one.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Buh, most recently the linebackers coach the past three seasons for Bret Bielema's Illinois program, is expected to join Ryan Walters's Purdue staff in a defensive analyst role.
Buh has coordinated defenses at California, Maryland, Stanford and Nevada; he's also been a special teams coordinator and worked on Mark Stoops's Kentucky staff in 2015.
Walters and Buh previously worked together when Walters was the defensive coordinator at Illinois.
In his first year as a head coach, Walters saw the Boilermakers close with an 4-8 record that included wins in two of their final three games -- notably against archrival Indiana.
The Boilermakers open their 2024 season Aug. 31 at home against FCS program Indiana State before two weeks later hosting Notre Dame in the Irish's first game at Purdue since 2013.
