Will Muschamp will remain at South Carolina in 2020, but his staff will not return intact.
Sources tell FootballScoop Muschamp is planning to make a change at head strength coach. Jeff Dillman is not expected to return.
Dillman had served as Muschamp's head strength coach the past four seasons, joining the Gamecocks after spending one season as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Alabama. He was part of the staff that helped the Crimson Tide to the 2016 national championship. Prior to that, he worked on Muschampβs staff at Florida for three years as the director of strength & conditioning.
Muschamp, sources tell FootballScoop, has been grappling with making changes to his offensive staff. Decisions on if, when, and who are playing out as we speak and could continue for some time. Stay tuned on that front.
South Carolina shed more than a touchdown per game year over year, dipping from 30.1 points per game in 2018 to 22.4 this fall. (It must be noted: senior quarterback Jake Bentley was lost for the season in South Carolina's opener, forcing the Gamecocks to play true freshman Ryan Hilinski in the remaining 11 games.)
As always stay tuned to The Scoop for the latest coaching job information.
Update> Multiple outlets are now reporting that quarterbacks coach Dan Werner will not return.
