Matt Storm announced last night that he and the Stephen F. Austin (FCS - TX) program have parted ways after a 3-8 campaign.
Storm has been the offensive coordinator for the Lumberjacks the past six seasons under head coach Colby Carthel.
Of their eight losses on the year, four of those came in tight one-score games by a total of 18 points.
Storm's relationship with Carthel goes back to their days at Texas A&M Commerce (D-II), where Storm was named the FootballScoop Division II Coordinator of the Year after the two led the program to a national title.
The two also spent a season together on staff at West Texas (D-II) where Carthel was the defensive coordinator and Storm served as offensive line coach prior to Carthel landing the Commerce head coaching position.
Stephen F. Austin is just a year removed from winning the WAC in 2022. They finished 3-1 in conference play after a 6-5 season that saw them score 98 points in a single game against Warner (NAIA - FL) during a week four contest.
