Oregon: The University of Oregon is currently seeking 2 qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2020 Summer Term. This is an unpaid position; however, it is acceptable to have a part time job to assist with personal finances. Under review of the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, candidates may be chosen for a paid internship at the END of the internship program (Summer Term). Chosen candidates will also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam. The internship program will start April 27 th (date flexible) through August 31st . The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the football strength and conditioning program; Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facility; Data input and upkeep; Professional development throughout the summer term and academic term; Any other tasks assigned by the Internship Director Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. The internship program’s goal is to advance the intern’s future in the strength and conditioning profession. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm and effective communication skills; Desire to become a strength and conditioning coach; First Aid, CPR & AED Certified Preferred Qualifications; Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field; Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc.; Previous coaching experience in collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting; Competitive collegiate athletic involvement It is strongly advised that all potential candidates make sure that this internship is economically feasible before applying. Winthrop (FCS – SC): The Winthrop University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant (GA). Winthrop University is a NCAA Division I University, located in Rock Hill, SC. This position provides a tuition grant, as well as, a $3500 stipend per semester (fall & spring). You must be accepted into the Winthrop Graduate School prior to employment. The position is subject to a Winthrop University background check. Intended start date is Aug 24th, 2020. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: All aspects of the strength and conditioning programs, including assigned sports’ programming and implementation, weight room cleaning/maintenance and monitoring of athlete fueling station. Successful applicants should possess the ability to effectively teach and execute proper technique of lifts and drills. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, or related field is required. Have already obtained certification from NSCA (CSCS) or CSCCa. Possess CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Experience with working in an NCAA/NAIA weight room. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Strength & Conditioning related technology is encouraged. Tiffin (D-II – OH): Tiffin University is seeking a strength & conditioning graduate assistant. Candidates must possess collegiate playing and/or coaching experience, be passionate about pursuing a career in strength and conditioning at the collegiate or professional level and meet the admissions standards of your desired graduate program. This position includes being an integral part of our lifting program, developing an off-season running & conditioning program and assisting with coaching a position.
