Georgia Tech: Georgia Tech Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 2-4 interns for the Winter/Spring Semester of 2020 to work Football and/or Olympic sports (Baseball, Softball, Swim and Dive, Golf, Track and Field). This is an unpaid position with the potential for pay upon further evaluation. This opportunity offers a valuable professional recommendation for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as assisting with the daily implementation of off-season or in-season training for assigned sports, set-up and breakdown of daily strength and conditioning training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, data collection and participation in an internship curriculum. There is an opportunity for the position to become a paid internship. Furman: Furman University Strength and Conditioning Department is now seeking applications for Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Spring and Summer Semesters of 2020. These are UNPAID and FULL-TIME positions that are responsible for assisting the FU Strength and Conditioning staff with the execution of the Spring training programs, preparation of the nutrition program, set up and break down of training sessions and maintenance of the weight room. This internship also provides educational opportunities for professional development in the field of strength and conditioning, coaching and certification preparation. North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the SPRING 2020 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an UNPAID position. Start date: JANUARY 6th End Date: MAY 8th. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship; Sport Science data acquisition and organization. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Notre Dame: The University of Notre Dame (www.nd.edu) Department of Athletics is accepting applications for temporary football interns to begin Winter 2020. This position offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. It also provides the opportunity to gain exposure on a national NCAA Division I team, while increasing marketability to a future employer. Responsibilities will include: Assist the Notre Dame Football Strength and Conditioning staff with daily administrative, cleaning and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a strong work-ethic, a positive attitude, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Arizona State: Arizona State University is currently accepting applications for the SPRING 2020 volunteer internship positions. These are positions for the SPRING 2020 training session, JAN 7 th – MAY 1 st , with the opportunity to stay longer. Qualified candidates would work with all facets of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL sports performance program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting FOOTBALL sports performance staff with the implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Troy: Troy University Football is accepting applications for (1) Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Coach. This position will start in January 2020 and will work with football only. Wayne State (D-II – MI): Wayne State University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2020 Winter semester. Job Requirements: The primary responsibilities of this position are to design and implement efficient training programs for assigned teams under the approval of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff in all aspects of training for all sports, program administration, working directly with student athletes to teach proper lifting technique, and upkeep daily maintenance of the weight room. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, apply and be accepted into a Graduate Program at WSU, possess or be working towards a nationally accredited certification (SCCC or CSCS), and MUST be CPR/AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: A nationally accredited certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW), personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and at least one (1) internship in the strength and conditioning field at the collegiate setting.
