New Mexico: University of New Mexico Football athletic performance is currently accepting applications for the SUMMER 2021 volunteer internship positions. These are positions for the SUMMER 2021 training session Deadline to apply: May 1 st , 2021. Start date: May 27 th , 2021. Qualified candidates would work with all facets of a NCAA Division 1 FBS FOOTBALL athletic performance program. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. The position is responsible for assisting FOOTBALL athletic performance staff with the implementation of the program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Nicholls State (Thibodaux, LA): The Nicholls State University Strength & Conditioning Department has IMMEDIATE OPENINGS for Summer 2021 & Fall 2021 NON-PAID/VOLUNTEER internship positions. There are multiple positions available assisting directly with Football and Olympic Sports. Successful applicants must not only have the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, but also possess a relentless work ethic and positive attitude. This is a coaching intensive internship with the opportunity for a lot of practical and hands on experience. The interns will be required to complete assigned readings, programming projects, and on floor coaching throughout the duration of the internship. Applicants must also be willing to work early mornings and late nights during the week and weekends. Applicants should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Applicants should also be working towards or possess certifications through either CSCCa (SCCC) or NSCA (CSCS). Waldorf: Waldorf College Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistantship for the Fall 2021- 2023 school years. The candidate will receive an online graduate tuition waiver and a $9,000 annual stipend for 12 months and free housing. This is a two year appointment and is not benefit eligible. Graduate assistant will report to the Director of Strength and Conditioning and will be responsible to work directly with all twenty-one varsity sports. Responsibilities assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning will include but are not limited to: The development and implementation of training programs for assigned teams; Assessment and instruction of posture, lifting technique, multi-directional movement mechanics, flexibility/mobility drills, agility and coordination drills, plyometrics, balance drills, vision training, and testing/assessing modalities; Strength room upkeep and equipment maintenance. Required Qualifications: Confirmed undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or related field; CSCS (preferred); CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire; Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to motivate student-athletes and work effectively with coaches and the sport medicine staff; Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Stony Brook: Stony Brook University Athletic Performance in Long Island, New York is searching for 2-4 summer interns to work with our Football and Men’s/Women’s Basketball teams. Work hours will span from morning to early afternoon 3-5 days per week, scheduling is flexible. The internship will last for 12 weeks starting on Friday, May 28 th for orientation and ending on August 20 th . Candidates who are interested in hands on strength and conditioning coaching experience, and sport science collection are encouraged to apply. This internship has potential to continue into the Fall semester. Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to intern assignments, coaching, and equipment maintenance. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is seeking hard working, enthusiastic candidates to fill THREE internship positions for the Summer (May to August 2021). The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff.
