Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance program for the 2019 Summer & Fall Quarters. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to serve all 36 sports including Football and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff to implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. The internship includes a curriculum to learn and apply Stanford Sports Performance’s training philosophy. Also part of the curriculum includes strength & conditioning basics, educational presentations, structure & organization, progressions, weight room management/logistics, sport science technologies/concepts, communication with other support staff & coaches, along with informal discussions. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must also have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 17th, 2019, and requires a 6-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn consideration for a paid intern position on the Sports Performance staff. Deadline to apply is: Friday, March 1st, 2019. Morehead State (FCS – KY): The Morehead State strength and conditioning department are now accepting applications for two (2) paid internship positions. This position will run through May 2019 with a possibility of an extended internship or graduate assistant position. CSCS or similar certification preferred.
