Louisiana-Lafayette: The University of Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for a spring intern. This is a paid position offering $1,000 (before taxes) a month. Start date will begin on or around January 16, 2013 and run through a calendar year. Responsibilities will include: 1) Assist with development and implementation of sport specific strength & conditioning programs. 2) Office and organizational duties.3) Daily maintenance of equipment.4) Assist in supervision of training sessions.5) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning staff. Preferred applicants should have collegiate athletic playing experience, currently pursuing or have achieved a bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and strong desire to become a College Strength & Conditioning Coach. Western Kentucky: We hear that strength and conditioning coordinator Antoine Sharp is leaving the Arkansas strength staff to take the head strength job at WKU. Also, Kolby Smith, an assistant strength coach, will be joining the Hilltopper staff as well.

Webber International: Webber International University is seeking qualified applicants for two available Spring 2013 Intern-Assistant positions. Benefits include free housing, full meal plan, and work attire/athletic apparel. There is no monetary compensation. Responsibilities are similar to that of a graduate assistant minus the graduate classes, as the intern-assistant would be in complete control of programming and leading workouts for 2 of our teams. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with football strength & conditioning; assisting with rehab assignments; assisting with day-to-day operational work in running the Fitness Center. This job will prepare the intern-assistant for a graduate-level or an assistant-level position, and is only for those who desire a career in Strength & Conditioning. Candidates for this program must be enrolled in or have graduated from an exercise science or related program, and must have current CPR/AED certification.
