North Dakota State: The North Dakota State University Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking interested students to fulfill UNPAID internship positions with our Olympic sports program for spring, summer and fall semesters. Candidates for the position should be a graduate or undergraduate student in exercise science or a related field and have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Internship responsibilities will vary and will include various duties within the NDSU Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. As an intern in our program, you will have the opportunity to join a high functioning, collaborative team of professionals who are committed to helping our athletes achieve their full potential on and off the field. Interns in our program can expect to gain valuable, hands on experience in areas such as program design, exercise instruction, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, conditioning, facility and athlete management. It is our goal to equip our interns with the skills needed to achieve a graduate assistant position at the conclusion of their time in our program. All interns will take part in a formal internship curriculum with weekly meetings and assignments. Our staff will take the time to mentor and develop interns within our program. We believe that an educated and well trained staff will have a powerful and meaningful impact on our student athletes. Requirements: Graduate or undergraduate students working towards a degree in exercise science or a related field. Must have a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Previous weight room or athletic experience preferred. Compensation: Academic credit only, this is an unpaid internship. Arizona Rattlers: The Arizona Rattlers are looking to fill an immediate need for three qualified candidates to fill internship positions for the upcoming 2016 season in the Strength and Conditioning Department. Candidates must possess loyalty, a genuine interest in pursuing a career in the profession, strong work ethic, dedication, the desire to gain knowledge, and a team oriented mindset. Job duties will include (1.) assisting primarily with the daily operations of the football strength and conditioning program, (2.) facility maintenance and upkeep, (3.) equipment set up and break down for training sessions. This is an unpaid internship with an expected commitment which begins Monday, February 22, 2016 and ends the first week of September. The opportunity offers experience for advancement in the profession as well as a well-rounded curriculum covering all aspects of sports performance. Preferred qualifications, although not a necessity, for the position consist of the candidates being CPR/AED certified and having or working towards the SCCC or CSCS credential. Northern Arizona: Northern Arizona is looking to hire a graduate assistant. This is a Part-time, 9 month position. Includes a tuition waver and stipend. Responsibilities will include assisting the head strength and conditioning coach with the administration and supervision of the strength and conditioning programs for all sports and directly overseeing the design and implementation of assigned sports. Qualifications Include: Bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS or SCCC, and current First Aid/CPR Certification, experience with the Olympic lifts and knowledge of long term periodization, nutrition, and recovery methodology. Must have experience in a Division I strength and conditioning program. Preferred: Playing and/or coaching experience at the Division 1 Level. A criminal and employment history background investigation will be performed prior to employment offer.
