East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for two hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence, and are able to coach Division 1 Football Student-Athletes for the Spring 2015 Semester. The two people chosen for this position must be able to start January 19th, 2015- May 8th, 2015. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning throughout the country. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. This will be a Hands on experience w/ responsibilities assigned based on previous experience and 2. Assist Strength staff with the implementation of strength & conditioning programs for ETSU Football. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Each candidate should have extensive knowledge of teaching and coaching strength and conditioning exercises and Speed and Agility Drills. US Ski and Snowboard Association: The U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association is accepting applications for its strength and conditioning internship with the High Performance Sport Science Department. Duties will include: educational curriculum; S&C program design and training sessions; athlete testing and sport science (force plate, blood lactates, VO2, data analysis); and presentations and reading assignments. Interns will be immersed in the staff and perform all the duties of a full-time strength and conditioning coach. The internship runs from mid-April to mid-October, 2015 (dates are firm), and offers a monthly stipend. Interns are responsible for all costs associated with relocation, accommodations, transportation, etc. Successful candidates have a desire to be a full-time strength and conditioning coach, can commit to the full duration of the internship, and often meet the follow preferences: enrolled or completion of BS or MS degree in Exercise Science; athletic experience as an athlete, coach, or volunteer; highly motivated and willingness to learn and listen to constructive criticism; CPR, First Aid, and AED certified; experience with Olympic lifting or experience in a strength and conditioning setting; and NSCA, CSCCa, or USAW certifications. VCU: The VCU Basketball strength program seeks a graduate assistant beginning in May of 2015. The candidate must be admitted into the Center for Sports Leadership graduate program at VCU. Compensation includes housing and partial tuition waiver. Experience in collegiate strength and conditioning or basketball preferred.
