Buffalo: The State University of New York at Buffalo Football Strength and Conditioning Staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a Football strength and conditioning internship for the Summer 2016. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an UNPAID position, living and transportation arrangements will NOT be provided. If chosen for this internship opportunity you will gain valuable experience, be educated on training philosophy, Olympic lifting modalities, and how to structure and execute a successful strength and conditioning program. Minimum qualifications: Strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Candidates should have or be working towards attaining their bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and at least one of the following Certifications or in the process of acquiring these certifications: CSCS, SCCC. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience, Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree or enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master’s program, CSCS. Southern University: Southern University and A&M is accepting applications for volunteer Strength & Conditioning interns for the summer of 2016. Southern is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Applicants must be currently pursuing a degree related to exercise science and must be working toward NSCA or CSCCA certification. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of 13 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and professional development throughout the internship program. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, and a strong desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience. Selected applicants will receive experience working with a wide variety of collegiate athletes, an advanced understanding of program design, and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities.
