Husson (ME): Husson University Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for a Fall Strength and Conditioning Volunteer. This is an unpaid position. Start date: October 13th; End Date: December 19th. Volunteer responsibilities include: Assisting with implementation of strength and conditioning programs at Husson University; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Effective set up and take down of strength and conditioning facilities for all programs at Husson University. Volunteer qualifications include: CPR/First Aid and AED certification; Experience in athletics or athletic preparation; Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Preferred qualifications include: Junior or Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; NSCA CSCS or equivalent; and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Volunteers will receive experience working in a NCAA Division III environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University Sports Performance is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Winter 2015 semester. The internship will begin Monday January 5th- Monday April 20th 2015. This is an unpaid internship, however this is a great opportunity to gain experience. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Eastern Michigan University’s 21 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties. You will have educational opportunities through Coach Ron Mckeefery’s internship curriculum. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred. Compensation: This is a non-paid position, but offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program.
