Bethune-Cookman: Bethune-Cookman University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Summer 2012 interns. This position is offering no monetary compensation. Individuals will gain experience in a division I college strength & conditioning setting as well as future recommendations. College credit will be given as approved by their institution. Responsibilities will include: 1) Organizational and office duties. 2) Daily maintenance of equipment. 3) Assisting in supervision of training sessions and demonstrating exercise technique when needed. 4) Other duties as assigned by strength & conditioning director. Preferred applicants should have outstanding work ethic, loyalty, and currently pursuing or have achieved a bachelors/masters in exercise science or a related field. Preferred qualifications: proficient in Microsoft Office, currently pursuing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). Northwestern State: Northwestern State University Strength and Conditioning program located in Natchitoches, Louisiana is currently in the process of accepting applications for strength and conditioning graduate assistant for Fall 2012 semester. Responsibilities will include assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 14 intercollegiate athletic teams. Work with both men’s and women’s sports as assigned by director of strength and conditioning. Assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing.The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with preferred emphasis in the exercise sciences, and extensive knowledge of Olympic lifts. Preferred experience includes coaching strength and conditioning for intercollegiate athletes, playing intercollegiate athletics. CSCS and USAW certification is also preferred.
