Southern Miss: University of Southern Miss Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the summer 2015 Athletic Performance Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Intern responsibilities include assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship; 16 week intern education course. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 Training environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Southern Miss: University of Southern Miss is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Athletic Performance Position. This is a position starting in May 2015 until graduation. Full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend are included. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program, GRE is required. Responsibilities include assisting with the design and implementation for a variety of Southern Miss collegiate sports. The qualified candidate will be assigned sports based on his/her background and experience. Proven knowledge and experience with sport specific strength, speed, and agility programs is necessary. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the SCCC through the CSCCa. East Tennessee State: The ETSU Football strength and conditioning department is accepting applications for Two volunteer/intern positions to contribute to the football Strength & Conditioning program during the 2015 Summer. The successful candidates must have a great attitude, give tireless effort, and possess a burning desire to become an effective strength and conditioning professional. The Duties of this internship include: Assisting with implementation of a Football Strength and Conditioning program; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; set up and take down of strength and conditioning equipment for workouts; involvement in an internship education program and other duties assigned by the strength staff. Qualified candidates will serve the Football Strength & Conditioning program with the opportunity to participate in all Football training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. There is NO monetary compensation for this position. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification if interested. The two successful candidates would be asked to intern, 25-35 Hours per week Preferred qualifications: SCCC or CSCS certified or working towards. CPR/AED certified and a bachelor’s degree or be working towards a degree in a program geared towards Strength and Conditioning, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology or some other related field.
