Tiffin (D-II - OH): Tiffin University Athletic Department is accepting applications for the position of Interns for Football and Olympic Sports for the summer of 2015, with the opportunity to continue in the fall of 2015. The Tiffin staff is looking for highly motivated, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level of strength and conditioning. The program is beneficial for undergraduate students and the post bachelor professional looking for experience; as well as develops the necessary skills to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week with the Athletic Department. Compensation: Division 2 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. Also housing may be provided. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in the field of Exercise Science or related and prior experience participating in college athletics; however it is not a requirement. Southern California: The University of Southern California Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for a volunteer intern to work with the Football team during summer 2015. Internship will start June 1st, and the intern will work a minimum of 40 hours per week. Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, administrative and maintenance duties, and various assignments and researching topics as directed by the strength staff. This is an unpaid internship, with no compensation or housing provided. However, the intern may be eligible to receive undergraduate credit hours (if applicable), and may earn a letter of recommendation for future opportunities in the field. Intern will receive professional work experience and develop skills to become a successful strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate and professional level. Intern must be highly motivated, have a strong work ethic, and have a keen interest in strength and conditioning. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field; prior experience participating in college athletics; CSCS or USAW certification; CPR certification; prior coaching experience. Hampton: Hampton University Strength and Conditioning is seeking two (2) Volunteer Assistant Coaches to assist with Football Strength and Conditioning. No monetary compensation can be provided; however, qualified candidates will be provided the opportunity to earn college credit (if applicable), earn recommendations for future employment opportunities and earn consideration for entry into the graduate program at Hampton University in the Fall of 2015. Position start date is between May 18 and June 1, 2015 and will conclude July 31, 2015. Selected candidates will be asked to complete a curriculum consisting of, but not limited to, readings, practicals, programming and teaching. Qualified individuals will be required to have a strong desire to become and Strength and Conditioning coach, be working toward or completed a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related field, and be working toward earning a certification from the CSCCa or NSCA. Evenings will be free in the event that the selected candidates wish to work for supplemental income. HU gear and some meals will be provided. Jacksonville: Jacksonville University Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for the FALL 2015 semester. The approximate start date is August 24, 2015 through December 4, 2015. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for football and all 18 varsity Olympic Sports, daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment in the weight room, assisting in teaching proper technique to student athletes, and professional development. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Interns will receive experience working for a Division I University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Candidates must have a strong work-ethic and a strong desire to be in the collegiate strength and conditioning coaching field. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or related field of study. Certification from one or more of the following (CSCCA, SCCC, NSCA, CSCS, USAW) are preferred or in pursuit of certification. Candidates must be CPR certified.
