Wofford: Wofford College Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Strength and Conditioning Department. Basic responsibilities include the knowledge and ability to design and implement specific programs per assigned teams, teach and instruct proper weight training and running prescription, and general upkeep and maintenance of the facility. Applicants must have an understanding of the demands of the business and be enthusiastic for the opportunity to prepare and enhance the student-athlete on a daily basis. Requirements for the position are as follows: Bachelor’s Degree, CSCS Certification, CPR/First Aid Certification, previous experience at the collegiate level in the weight room, desire to learn and possess a passion for training student-athletes. The position pays a monthly stipend plus furnished housing and an on-campus meal plan for the successful applicant. Anticipated start date is January 2015. Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a spring semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Ole Miss Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of the off-season program and all other departmental functions. This internship program contains an academic portion, which entails multiple readings and assignments, as well as a hands on practical portion. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body, previous coaching in a collegiate setting, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Official start date would be January 14, 2015 and last till May 1, 2015.
